To feel commonality is to find support and companionship towards an idea, a cause or experience.
Objetive:
To enhance the idea of digital collaboration by creating a visual and physical representation of digital companionship.
In this installation participants experienced how digital participation creates a physical representation of digital actions in real time. I wanted that participants reflected about togetherness, interconnection and collectivity regardless of geography.
The installation uses Twitter as data source, an Arduino robot as medium, and a large white canvas. The robot moves drawing lines or circles every time a new person tweets a pre-defined hashtag. The final outcome is a large abstract drawing of all these tweets during a set period of time. Participants besides to experience a live creation they can also observe previous art pieces exhibited in place.
